Give it to me greek

now bear with me as this below is one of those youtubes you don’t really have to watch.  i love how youtube is now also a depot of whatever song i want to hear but don’t want to find or buy.  i’m cool with this, as a record label.  ok

now, Nana Mouskouri, is someone you need to learn about.  In the 60’s she was the swingingest, hottest Greek beatnik in the world. She invented the Chloe glasses, you know the ones girls named Chloe wear.  Now she does Celine Deon kinda stuff but forget about now. Her band is tight, her pipes are lovely and playful.  The piano tingles, and i think that’s a harmonica.

” the prostitute that has no price”  did the original singing in 1960.  Here’s her version, much more steamy but a bit less vocal talent.

Back to that ill Nana, here she is without glasses.  Still a fox with sensitive voice:

There is a version of her singing “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town” in French that is not on youtube yet.  It’s the shoot. I have it on this pink import record that I bought for 1 dollar and wouldn’t sell for the world.  Well, I might give it away to a girl who reminds me of Nana.
